WHAT DOES A SENIOR MANAGER SOCIAL MEDIA DO

The Senior Manager, Social Media, will lead strategic development and tactical initiatives for a portfolio of businesses, serving as social media counsel to account staff and external clients.

Internally, the role involves team planning and growth, internal education across departments, knowledge sharing, and internal communications. The goal is to drive social media adoption, making it a core competency. The role is expected to serve as the primary subject matter expert and project owner for a portfolio of businesses, collaborating with clients to keep them aware of social media trends and technology while supporting their marketing objectives within the pharmaceutical industry.

The Social Media team is a subject matter expert group working closely with clients and internal teams to enhance core competencies in social media content creation, distribution, and customer engagement. The role also oversees social media analytics and reporting to ensure business KPIs and goals are met, ensuring delivery is on time, within budget, and on target. The Senior Manager, Social Media, should have an in-depth understanding of paid media and be able to communicate paid social planning recommendations to clients, providing detailed tactical information at the platform level and illustrating how it fits into a broader digital ecosystem.

This person also conducts social listening research, delving into disease areas to uncover insights, provide relevant observations, and add data points. Social listening query oversight, data pulls, and optimization are key responsibilities. An additional focus is developing influencer relationship management programs, including the identification, analysis, and curation of influencers within specific patient populations.

  • Approximately 5-8 years of related industry or agency experience; pharmaceutical experience is a plus.
  • Applied experience in marketing and advertising, with expertise in digital strategy, media, and technology.
  • Applied experience in social media and technology.
  • Knowledge of paid media and social listening.
  • Strong multitasking, problem-solving skills, and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong client relations and business development skills.

  • Some travel may be required for client meetings, new business pitches, and agency meetings.

EVERSANA offers competitive salaries and benefits. The salary range for this position is $76,000 to $113,000 within the U.S., based on experience, qualifications, and location. EVERSANA reserves the right to modify this range at any time.
