Your Impact

As Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting, you will oversee a team of approximately six professionals focused on revenue close, ownership of revenue systems (especially RevStream but including SFDC and D365), managing the close process, and liaising with Axon's auditors.

The role requires experience with Revenue Recognition, process and system improvement, as well as strong team leadership skills.

The role will partner with non-finance executives and managers within Operations, IT, and Business Development to implement processes that meet customer expectations and accelerate the close.

What You'll Do

Location: SF Bay Area, Scottsdale, AZ, Seattle, WA, Boston, MA, Atlanta, GA, Sterling, VA, or Denver, CO

Reports to: Director, Revenue Accounting

Direct Reports: 6

  • Lead, coach, and develop the US revenue accounting team responsible for accurate revenue recognition utilizing RevStream, Salesforce, Dynamics 365, and related systems.
  • Oversee product, SaaS, software, and professional services accounting, partnering with sales and operations for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Controllership, Operations, and FP&A to ensure accurate and timely revenue reporting.
  • Manage communication throughout the monthly and quarterly close processes with all stakeholders, including auditors and leadership.
  • Set and track key performance metrics for the team.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the lead-to-cash cycle.
  • Draft, implement, and execute policies and system changes to facilitate an efficient revenue close cycle.
  • Conduct training for stakeholders and professionals involved in quoting and order processing.
  • Partner with IT to develop system requirements, test changes, and monitor system performance.
  • Identify opportunities for process, system, and productivity improvements to support scaling in existing and new markets globally.

What You Bring

  • 7+ years of experience leading revenue accounting teams in a dispersed work environment.
  • Strong experience managing close auditors.
  • Experience with revenue close processes using a revenue engine.
  • Global public company experience under SOX regulation, preferably in technology companies across diverse regulatory frameworks and multiple countries.
  • Strong attention to detail, results-driven, with effective time management and customer focus.
  • Proven track record of implementing and enhancing operational technologies to enable growth.
  • Ability to identify and improve financial close processes, understanding how business processes impact accounting and reporting.
  • Experience recruiting and developing talent, including early career managers.

Benefits may vary depending on employment type and location. Axon offers total compensation including base pay, bonus, and stock awards. The starting base pay ranges from USD 100,000 to USD 155,000, depending on various factors. For more details, visit www.axon.com/careers/benefits.
