Job summary

Dominion Energy's Millstone Power Station is seeking a Manager for Radiological Protection & Chemistry to lead the department and ensure safe, compliant operations. You will oversee Radiological Protection programs, chemical controls, and radioactive waste management while shaping priorities and training.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in radiological protection or chemistry, 3+ years in a nuclear power setting, and at least 1 year of supervision.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant experience related to radiological protection and/or chemistry.
• 3+ years of nuclear power plant experience
• 1+ years of supervisor or management experience.
• Completion of DOM-QA-1, "Nuclear Facility Quality Assurance Program Description", section 2.5 and Appendix C.
• Demonstrated proficiency in leading and directing the implementation of the Radiation Protection program.
• Strong communications with other managers as well as direct reports.
• Proven ability to provide clear direction and expectations.
• Demonstrated presentation skills to large groups of employees.
• Strong interpersonal skills to work with multiple groups; ability to motivate and lead an organization with limited direction.
• Proven ability to foster teamwork at the manager and worker level by communicating needs and expected outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Senior-level supervision of Radiological Protection programs, Radiation Protection & Chemistry controls, and radioactive waste management.
• Planning and direction of the team’s deliverables and priorities.
• Ensuring team members are properly trained and fully qualified.
• Ensuring the department is properly manned and equipped to execute work.
• Evaluating the effectiveness of radiological protection and chemistry program elements and taking actions to improve performance.
• Analyzing trends in radiological/chemical work performance and developing action plans.
• Developing and implementing policy changes as appropriate.
• Monitoring the effectiveness of chemistry controls used to protect vital equipment.
• Managing radioactive waste processing and disposal programs to minimize effluent releases and land burial.
• Identifying and reviewing causes and corrective actions for incidents to prevent recurrence.
• Developing and managing department budgets and operational goals.
