The Senior Manager of Purchasing and Replenishment is a key leader in the Supply Chain organization, responsible for ensuring the company has the necessary materials at the right locations, in the right quantities, at the right time. This includes supply chain process improvement, team development of buyers/planners, and metric tracking/KPIs to maximize material availability, support high On-Time & Complete delivery performance, and maintain short lead-times to Door Customers.
This position will have 8-14 direct reports.
Responsibilities
- Oversee key aspects of direct materials supply planning.
- Establish and implement methods and best practices related to systems and processes supporting inventory management, forecasting, replenishment, and supplier performance.
- Enhance team utilization of technology and eliminate non-value-added system workarounds.
- Administer KPI scorecards monitoring inventory levels, material availability, delivery service levels, and lead-times.
- Collaborate with Plant Supply Chain, Master Planners, Suppliers, and Logistics on processes, service performance, financials, production schedules, and inventory visibility.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels at manufacturing facilities to ensure material availability and minimize potential OSMI.
- Manage product lifecycle of materials supporting new product/service models, OSMI management, and SKU rationalization.
- Mentor team members to develop skills for current roles and future advancement.
- Monitor and adjust team assignments to support capacity and growth.
- Lead process improvements for material planning, cost reduction, and inventory strategies.
- Collaborate with departments to support production planning and review results with stakeholders.
- Drive total cost of ownership via compliance with supply agreements, supplier management, and operational dialogue to identify risks and opportunities.
- Manage and optimize OTIF for raw material flow in line with customer service requirements.
- Work with sourcing, suppliers, and inventory specialists to resolve issues related to pricing, delivery, quality, and specifications.
Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years in Supply Planning, Purchasing, or Procurement within manufacturing, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or MBA preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of Material Replenishment processes (Materials Requirement Planning, Capacity Planning, Procurement).
- Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams across multiple locations.
- Strong analytical and process-oriented skills.
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably Dynamics AX.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Excel; Power BI preferred.
- Ability to build relationships across organizational levels.
- Responsive to changing needs through resource management.
- High accuracy in work to prevent delays, excess inventory, costs, and customer dissatisfaction.
- Remote work in Southeast US or within 1 hour of Forte facilities.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%.
