Delaware Municipal Electric Corporation (DEMEC) is seeking a Senior Manager of Government & Community Relations to lead communications, government affairs, and stakeholder engagement across federal, state, and local levels.

Reporting to the Director, you will develop content for digital and print platforms, monitor policy developments, and translate complex energy issues into clear messages for diverse audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, public affairs, or closely related field.
• At least five years of professional experience in communications, government relations, or public policy.
• Experience developing corporate-level written communications.
• Ability to manage multiple complex projects and meet deadlines.
• Proven ability to engage elected officials, agencies, and diverse stakeholders.
• Experience with digital platforms and multimedia communications.

Responsibilities

• Manage planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of internal and external communications.
• Develop, write, edit, and coordinate corporate communications and messaging.
• Oversee DEMEC's website, social media, branding, and multimedia efforts.
• Support legislative tracking, policy research, and advocacy initiatives.
• Coordinate media relations for board meetings, member events, and conferences.
• Lead cross-functional projects and mentor staff and consultants.
