Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Manager, Project Controls to provide enterprise leadership for our project controls function across a large, complex portfolio of municipal, industrial, and federal projects.

This role will establish governance, modernize platforms and workflows, and deliver analytics, forecasting, and predictive insights to improve profitability and predictability.

Domestic and international travel may be required, up to 50% in some assignments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; 15+ years of related experience.
• PMP or PgM certification required.
• Experience with municipal, industrial, and federal clients in the water/engineering sector.
• Travel up to 50% may be required.

Responsibilities

• Define the enterprise project controls strategy, standards, methodologies, and governance model.
• Establish project controls approaches for design-build, progressive design-build, CMAR, and other delivery models.
• Strengthen budgeting, earned value management, forecasting, variance analysis, and scheduling.
• Develop leading indicators, dashboards, and actionable insights for margins and delivery risk.
• Lead modernization of project controls platforms, data, workflows, and AI-enabled forecasting.
• Establish scalable standards for document management and data quality.
• Collaborate with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to improve client outcomes.
• Build and develop a distributed team of schedulers and cost controllers.
