Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Manager, Project Controls to lead enterprise controls across a large portfolio for municipal, industrial, and federal clients. You will shape governance, platforms, and predictive insights to deliver projects safely, profitably, and predictably.

The ideal candidate has deep experience in integrated delivery, design-build, and analytics, with a track record of transforming enterprise controls.

Qualifications

Proven leadership of project controls for large, complex programs or portfolios.
Experience with integrated design-build, progressive design-build, CMAR, or similar delivery models.
Leading digital transformation initiatives involving enterprise platforms, data integration, standardized workflows, dashboards and AI-enabled capabilities.
Deep knowledge of cost engineering, scheduling, forecasting, earned value, risk management, and document controls.
Strong business acumen with the ability to translate data into executive-level recommendations and decisions.
Ability to influence change across a large, matrixed organization and build cross-functional alignment.
Proven success in developing talent and high-performing teams.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Define enterprise project controls strategy, standards, methodologies, and governance model.
Establish controls for design-build, progressive design-build, CMAR, and other delivery models across regions.
Strengthen budgeting, earned value management, forecasting, variance analysis, and scheduling.
Develop leading indicators, dashboards, and actionable insights for margin, cash flow, and delivery risk.
Lead modernization of project controls platforms, data, and AI-enabled forecasting.
Establish scalable standards for document management and data quality.
Collaborate with executive leadership and delivery teams to improve predictability and client outcomes.
Build a geographically distributed team of schedulers, cost controllers, and document control professionals.
