Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Manager, Project Controls to lead the enterprise project controls function across a large portfolio of municipal, industrial, and federal projects. This role focuses on governance, systems, analytics, and talent development to deliver projects safely, profitably, and predictably.

The ideal candidate has deep AEC project controls leadership, experience with integrated delivery, and a track record modernizing platforms, workflows, and reporting.

Qualifications

• Extensive leadership of project controls for large portfolios.
• Experience with integrated design-build and alternative delivery models.
• Proven track record in digital transformation of project controls.
• Deep knowledge of cost, scheduling, forecasting, and risk controls.
• Strong business acumen and executive decision support.
• Ability to lead change across a large, matrixed organization.

Responsibilities

• Define the enterprise project controls strategy, standards, methodologies, and governance model.
• Establish project controls approaches for design-build and other delivery models; align design, procurement, cost, schedule, risk, and commercial controls.
• Strengthen budgeting, earned value management, forecasting, variance analysis, and master scheduling.
• Develop leading indicators, dashboards, and actionable insights for margins, cash flow, and delivery risk.
• Lead modernization of platforms, data, and workflows; promote automation and AI-enabled forecasting.
• Establish scalable document controls standards and ensure data quality and traceability.
