Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior PMO leader to oversee a global PMO portfolio, aligning projects with strategic goals across engineering, product development and operations. You will mentor PMO Managers and drive governance, performance transparency, and continuous improvement in a matrixed, fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

Minimum 15 years of professional experience in project management, program management, PMO leadership, product development, or business operations
Minimum 8 years of people leadership experience, including experience leading managers
Experience leading PMO Managers, Project Managers, Program Managers, or similar professional organizations
Experience working with global teams and within a matrixed organization
Experience presenting to executive leadership and facilitating strategic decision‑making
Demonstrated experience working in Agile and SAFe environments, with coexistence of Agile and traditional PM methods

Responsibilities

Lead a team of PMO Managers, Project Managers, and Project Coordinators delivering strategic product development and business initiatives
Provide leadership and oversight for project execution, resource planning, governance, and continuous improvement
Partner with Engineering, Product Management, Business Operations, Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Finance leaders to drive execution excellence
Develop project management capabilities and provide transparency into organizational performance
Lead resource planning to optimize project management resource utilization and align with business needs and budgets
Champion Agile, Hybrid SAFe, and traditional project management practices
Prepare and lead executive reviews and governance forums
Present project, organizational, and strategic business updates to senior executives and leadership teams
Drive consistency and discipline across PMO processes, governance, risk management, and reporting
Operate effectively across multiple time zones and global teams

Lead a team of PMO Managers, Project Managers, and Project Coordinators delivering strategic product development and business initiatives across the Power & Motion Business
Provide leadership and oversight for project execution, resource planning, governance, and continuous improvement
Partner with Engineering, Product Management, Business Operations, Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Finance leaders to drive execution excellence
Develop project management capabilities and provide transparency into organizational performance
Lead, develop, and coach PMO Managers and Project Managers
Establish PMO policies, procedures, governance processes, delivery frameworks, and project management methodologies
Report status, progress, issues, risks, resource constraints, and dependencies across major programs and initiatives
Align priorities, resources, and execution plans with strategic objectives
Lead resource planning to optimize project management resource utilization and align with business needs and budgets
Champion Agile, Hybrid SAFe, and traditional project management practices
Develop organizational capabilities, talent strategies, succession plans, and career development pathways
Manage and mitigate program and organizational risks and develop contingency plans
Prepare and lead executive reviews and governance forums
Present project, organizational, and strategic business updates to senior executives and leadership teams
Build collaborative partnerships across functional organizations
Drive consistency and discipline across project management processes, governance, risk management, and reporting
Operate effectively across multiple time zones and global teams
Report to Director PMO, Business Operations, & HPO

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Years of Relevant Work Experience
Legal authorization to work in the US is required
Will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening
Ability to travel up to 20%
Minimum 5 years management experience
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, Project Management, or related field
Minimum 15 years of professional experience in project management, program management, PMO leadership, product development, or business operations
Minimum 8 years of people leadership experience, including experience leading managers
Experience managing PMO Managers, Project Managers, Program Managers, or similar professional organizations
Strong knowledge of project management best practices and methodologies
Experience working with global teams and within a matrixed organization
Experience presenting to executive leadership and facilitating strategic decision-making
Demonstrated experience working in Agile and SAFe environments, particularly organizations where Agile and traditional project management methodologies coexist
Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI), Common Product Development (CPD), or other structured product development processes
Experience leading complex product development programs from concept through commercialization
Experience leading PMO organizations within engineering, technology, or product development environments
Experience leading organizational transformation, integration, or change management initiatives
Experience working in a large global company with responsibility for both direct and indirect reports
MBA or relevant advanced degree (preferred)
SAFe certifications such as SAFe Scrum Master, Release Train Engineer (RTE), SAFe Agilist (SA), or Lean Portfolio Management (LPM) (preferred)

Core Competencies

Demonstrates extensive experience in leading PMO organizations and managing complex product development programs, with a strong emphasis on Agile and SAFe methodologies.
