Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior DevOps leader to guide a growing team across cloud automation, infrastructure, and platform tooling. You will own security integration, incident management, and collaboration with engineering and security leadership to align IT investments with business priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of DevOps engineers.
• Own the roadmap for cloud automation, cloud infrastructure, and platform tooling.
• Drive infrastructure security practices including access controls, vulnerability management, and compliance.
• Advance the DevOps team’s use of AI in workflows to improve deployment speed and reliability.
• Evaluate and introduce tools and platform advancements for scalability and cost efficiency.
• Manage incident response processes and drive root-cause analysis for continuous improvement.

Job description

• Lead and develop a team of DevOps engineers
• Set priorities, coach team members for growth, and ensure continuous technology operations
• Own the roadmap for cloud automation, cloud infrastructure, and platform tooling
• Drive infrastructure security practices, including access controls, vulnerability management, and compliance
• Advance the DevOps team's use of AI in workflows to improve deployment speed, reliability, and developer productivity
• Evaluate and introduce tools and platform advancements to improve scalability, cost efficiency, and resilience
• Manage incident response processes
• Drive root-cause analysis and continuous improvement plans

Requirements

• Qualified individuals must be located in Maine, New Hampshire, or Massachusetts
• Candidates within driving distance of Westbrook, Maine: flexible hybrid requirement of 8 days per month on site
• Candidates more than 1 hour from Westbrook, Maine: potentially fewer than 8 on-site days per month
• 7 or more years of experience in DevOps, infrastructure, or platform engineering
• At least 7+ years in a people management role
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar infrastructure-as-code tools
• Experience with Kubernetes or other container orchestration
• Experience embedding security practices into infrastructure lifecycle management and CI/CD pipelines
• Hands-on experience with observability platforms such as Datadog or CloudWatch
• Experience scaling a DevOps or platform team, including technical hiring, organizational design, and operational process maturity
• Experience leading teams through incident response and operational maturity improvements
• Excellent communication skills and ability to translate technical strategy for non-technical stakeholders
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
• Familiarity with cost management and FinOps tooling preferred
• Experience with multi-cloud environments preferred
