Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior engineering leader to build and lead a high-performing team delivering the Patch & Repave Platform. You will design, architect, and deliver an enterprise solution for automated patching of deployed compute infrastructure and immutable container/VM repaving.

You will promote best practices, manage production delivery, collaborate with product and security, and drive compliance, reliability, and performance across the platform.

Qualifications

• 8–12+ years in software/platform engineering.
• 8+ years leading engineering teams, including hiring, performance, and delivery accountability.
• Proven track record delivering enterprise-scale platforms.
• Strong understanding of cloud-native architecture and distributed systems fundamentals, including reliability, scalability, and fault tolerance.
• Experience with CI/CD, release engineering, and automated quality gates.
• Working knowledge of immutable infrastructure concepts and/or platform lifecycle automation.
• Familiarity with containers/Kubernetes and/or VM platforms.

• Design, architect, and deliver an enterprise solution for automated patching of deployed compute infrastructure and repaving immutable container and VM offerings


• Deliver a secure, scalable, policy-driven platform that modernizes patching, reduces vulnerability exposure, and improves reliability

• Coach employees, conduct performance reviews, and create development plans


• Manage production solution delivery and application performance, including health, resiliency, performance, security, data management, audits, risk, financial, and compliance policies

Requirements

• 8–12+ years in software/platform engineering


• 8+ years leading engineering teams, including hiring, performance, and delivery accountability


• Proven track record delivering enterprise-scale platforms


• Strong understanding of cloud-native architecture and distributed systems fundamentals, including reliability, scalability, and fault tolerance


• Experience with CI/CD, release engineering, and automated quality gates


• Working knowledge of immutable infrastructure concepts and/or platform lifecycle automation


• Familiarity with containers/Kubernetes and/or VM platforms


• Experience with React/Angular, Java Core, MongoDB/REDIS


• Infrastructure as Code and configuration management approaches


• Observability, including metrics, logs, tracing, and operational tooling


• Ability to collaborate across Security, SRE, Infrastructure, and Application stakeholders


• Excellent communication translating executive outcomes, product requirements, and engineering delivery


• Experience with patch orchestration systems, vulnerability remediation automation, or compliance reporting platforms preferred


• Experience operating platforms with SLOs and partnering with SRE on operational readiness and on-call rotations preferred


• Familiarity with image pipelines, artifact registries, supply-chain security, progressive delivery, hybrid/on-prem environments, event-driven architecture, streaming, change-data-capture, UX-heavy internal products, platform security, compliance automation, and Tier 1 systems preferred


• Ability to work first shift in the United States of America


• 40 hours per week
