Senior Manager, Planning and Procurement
ABOUT MARKETLAB

Marketlab is a market leading healthcare solutions organization specializing in the design, manufacturing, and sourcing of private label products. It's our mission to provide our healthcare partners timely solutions with a straightforward approach based on knowing them and their work. Every day we strive to positively impact the lives of the people who in turn impact the health and wellness of our communities.

Based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Marketlab's success is built on collaboration, accountability, and operational excellence. Strong systems, clear data, and trusted partnerships are foundational to how we operate and scale.

THE OPPORTUNITY

At Marketlab, we are transforming our supply chain structure to fuel our next stage of growth, and we are seeking an accomplished Senior Manager of Planning and Procurement to lead this evolution. Reporting directly to the Director of Supply Chain, you will lead the Demand Planning, Supply Planning, and Purchasing subfunctions across our distribution and manufacturing channels.

In this autonomous leadership role, you will modernize our end-to-end planning architecture, optimize working capital metrics, and elevate vendor execution. You will serve as the operational engine behind our customer service commitments, ensuring high product availability for major healthcare systems and Tier 1 national distributors. If you are a high-impact leader who pairs rigorous planning acumen with team management to bridge commercial ambition with operational execution, this role offers an opportunity to make immediate impact while collaborating with all levels of management.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Provide strategic direction and management for the Demand Planning, Supply Planning, and Purchasing subfunctions.
  • Design, implement, and govern the key performance indicator (KPI) framework-aligning forecast precision, supplier OTIF, and inventory turns, with broader corporate targets.
  • Oversee raw material and component replenishment strategy for internal manufacturing operations, leading the team to serve as a close, trusted partner to Manufacturing in driving daily performance and supporting long-term growth.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives driven by KPI performance trends, root-cause analyses, and cross-functional process refinements.
  • Own service excellence, driving metrics (Order Fill Rate, OTIF) to support strict Tier 1 healthcare distributor SLAs and health system customer requirements.
  • Proactively negotiate and acquire long-term supplier capacity, evaluating capacity commitments and dual-sourcing triggers to protect high-growth and strategic SKU lines.
  • Advance Marketlab's planning architecture, expanding the hybrid Reorder Point (ROP) framework and maturing S&OP integration with commercial and sourcing teams.
  • Balance inventory working capital targets (DIOH, E&O mitigation) against high-line-item availability, delivering data-backed recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Act as the senior escalation point for complex global supply chain disruptions, critical vendor bottlenecks, and emergency buffer stock strategies.
  • Partner with Strategic Sourcing and Product Management to streamline supplier scorecards, total cost of ownership (TCO) targets, and NPI inventory rollouts.
  • Establish scalable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), team KPIs, and professional development pathways for the team.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 8+ years of progressive supply chain, planning, and procurement experience in high-SKU distribution, light manufacturing, or global sourcing environments.
  • 4+ years of leadership experience managing supply chain teams.
  • Advanced experience leveraging NetSuite ERP (or major ERPs) alongside analytical planning tools (Google Sheets/Excel).
  • Proven track record of establishing functional KPIs, maturing planning strategies and execution, improving customer fill rates, and expanding supplier capacity strategies.
  • APICS or other relevant supply chain certifications are highly desirable.
COMPETENCIES
  • Strategic Leadership - Sets a clear operational vision, aligns functional KPIs with corporate commercial targets, and operates with high autonomy.
  • KPI Governance & Continuous Improvement - Builds robust metric frameworks and leverages performance data to systematically identify gaps, drive process fixes, and scale capabilities.
  • Service Level & SLA Mastery - Owns customer fulfillment performance, translating account service agreements into precise supply chain execution.
  • Capacity & Supply Network Strategy - Proactively identifies network bottlenecks and secures vendor capacity commitments to enable uninterrupted sales growth.
