Job summary

Onto Innovation in Milpitas, CA, seeks a Sr. Manager of Systems Engineering to guide cross-functional teams through full product life cycle, focusing on Mueller matrix spectroscopic ellipsometer technologies and next-gen OCD metrology systems.

You will lead delivery, interface with suppliers, drive NPI, and ensure reliability, with 25% travel. A PhD in a relevant field and 5–10 years in semiconductor capital equipment are required.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. degree in optical engineering, physics, EE or related disciplines.
• 5–10 years of experience in semiconductor capital equipment.
• Experience with spectroscopy, ellipsometry and reflectometry metrology techniques.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering leadership on physics, optimization, and technical problem solving for Mueller matrix spectroscopic ellipsometer technology.
• Lead a group of systems engineers to drive productization of Onto Innovation’s next-generation OCD Spectroscopic Ellipsometer Metrology Systems.
• Drive development of new technology platforms for advanced optical metrology products.
• Coordinate with marketing, manufacturing, service, and R&D groups to enable NPI and customer qualification for high-volume adoption.
• Interface with suppliers of critical components and subsystems.
