Job summary

Equinix is seeking a Senior Manager of Onsite Power Generation to lead commercial evaluation of onsite and co-sited power generation for its data center portfolio. You will identify opportunities, structure agreements, and negotiate with vendors and developers across global teams.

The role requires deep technical fluency, strong commercial judgment, and experience negotiating complex energy contracts, with cross-functional collaboration across Legal, Finance, and Operations.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in energy project development or related fields.
• Deep technical understanding of onsite power generation technologies.
• Experience negotiating complex energy or infrastructure agreements.
• Strong commercial judgment translating technical requirements into risk and pricing.
• Proven ability to manage strategic vendor, developer, IPP, and internal stakeholders.
• Cross-functional collaboration with engineering, construction, operations, and finance.
• Clear written and verbal communication for senior audiences.

Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and prioritize onsite and distributed generation opportunities.
• Develop commercial structures for PPAs, tolling, capacity agreements, leases.
• Serve as the primary commercial interface with vendors, developers, IPPs, OEMs.
• Negotiate protections: availability, liquidated damages, credit support, remedies.
• Build and test commercial analyses including energy and capacity costs.
• Handoff to Energy Asset Management after agreement execution.
• Maintain a point of view on emerging onsite generation technologies.
• Prepare recommendations for senior leadership.
