Job summary

Equinix is seeking a Senior Manager for Onsite Power Generation to lead the commercial evaluation of generation opportunities across its data center portfolio. You will identify, diligence, structure, and negotiate generation solutions including fuel cells, gas generators, gas turbines, BESS, long-duration storage, and demand response resources.

Qualifications

• Typically 8+ years of experience in energy project development, power generation or related fields.
• Deep technical understanding of onsite power generation technologies and DERs.
• Experience evaluating and negotiating complex energy or infrastructure agreements.
• Strong commercial judgment translating technical requirements into risk and pricing.
• Ability to manage relationships with vendors, developers, IPPs and internal teams.
• Experience cross-functionally with engineering, construction, operations, legal, and finance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Opportunity origination and screening for onsite and distributed generation opportunities.
• Transaction structuring for PPAs, tolling, capacity agreements, leases and other types.
• Vendor and developer negotiations as the primary commercial interface.
• Risk allocation and governance with legal and internal stakeholders.
• Build and pressure-test commercial analyses including energy and capacity costs.
• Execution handoff with Energy Asset Management team post-agreement.
• Maintain strategy on emerging onsite generation tech and standard frameworks.
• Prepare recommendations and materials for senior leadership.
