The Senior Manager of Collegiate Programs reports to the Chief Program Officer and leads staff who support students from senior year of high school through college graduation. This role oversees the planning, implementation, tracking, and continuous improvement of College Completion programming across four-year and community college pathways. Program services include group and one-on-one coaching, enrollment and transfer support, academic development, degree progress counseling, college visits, financial aid and debt management, campus resource referrals, student advocacy, career readiness and exposure, community engagement, crisis support, and mental health referrals.
The Senior Manager of Collegiate Programs consults on high-need and high-complexity student cases, strengthens team practice, and supports predictive assessment and early intervention. The role collaborates with Program Leadership to analyze student outcomes, college-specific trends, matriculation patterns, financial insights, and other indicators that inform future intervention strategies. Success will be measured by program quality, student outcomes, comprehensive data reporting, strategic alignment, and strong operational processes. This position requires 6–8 overnight college visits per year, some after‑school hours, and regular presence at both the downtown St. Louis office and the Forest Park campus of St. Louis Community College.
– Lead the planning, delivery, monitoring, and continuous improvement of College Completion programming across four‑year and community college pathways.
– Use Salesforce data, feedback surveys, needs assessments, and team documentation to assess program quality, identify trends, and improve student support.
– Ensure student interventions are relevant, timely, evidence‑based, and aligned with student needs, organizational strategy, and program goals.
– Review financial assistance requests with attention to student need, budget impact, intervention plans, and long‑term outcomes.
– Support student transitions from College Prep to College Completion by ensuring students are oriented, prepared, and connected to appropriate programming.
– Partner with colleges to identify student needs, coordinate campus supports, and arrange College Bound visits when appropriate.
– Maintain the annual program calendar and internal and student‑facing materials that guide programming throughout the academic year.
– Lead cohort and program‑wide communication, special projects, and team‑wide initiatives as needed.
– Serve as a secondary relationship‑holder for students by participating in classes, events, individual meetings, family meetings, and other key interactions.
– Consult on high‑need and high–complexity student cases and support staff in developing appropriate intervention plans.
– Support screening processes through surveys, assessments, semi‑structured interviews, observation, and team‑based planning.
– Engage parents and families at key stages, including senior‑year entry, financial aid, college choice, and college matriculation.
– Ensure timely, accurate, and complete collection of information related to student performance, program delivery, and student population characteristics.
– Recommend improvements to systems related to student monitoring, outcome measurement, reporting, evaluation, and projection of student success indicators.
– Coordinate data collection projects related to college fit, academic performance, degree progress, financial aid and debt, degree attainment, and workforce entry.
– Prepare datasets, reports, summaries, analyses, and research to support program development, grant applications, and reporting requirements.
– Identify professional development, training, and support opportunities that strengthen team practice.
-Maintain strong knowledge of relevant legislation, professional standards, and best practices in college access, college completion, higher education, financial aid, and career readiness.
– Model a strong outcomes‑focused orientation within College Completion and operate with consistently high expectations.
– Collaborate with program staff, managers, the Mental Health Services team, schools, and community partners to align services and support shared outcomes.
– Ensure compliance with approved data requests, memoranda of understanding, contractual obligations, and budget expectations.
– Complete additional duties and special projects as assigned.
– Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in a related field (education, social work, nonprofit administration, psychology, counseling, etc.)
– A minimum of 3 years of experience working with at‑risk youth required. Experience in college access and completion and/or postsecondary education strongly preferred; Prefer a minimum of two years of experience in a nonprofit setting; experience in community college field is a plus
– Strong program design, evaluation, and project management skills as well as the ability to make clear, informed decisions.
– Possesses a desire to lead constant iterative programmatic improvement based on results
– Demonstrated knowledge of higher education processes, including financial aid issues and campus resources
– Highly organized self‑starter with a commitment to excellence, strict attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
– Adaptable, possesses a high tolerance for ambiguity, and thrives in a fast‑paced, highly collaborative environment
– Effective and professional communicator who is able to quickly establish credibility and rapport with partners, students, families, and staff
– Computer proficient; experience using a database to manage student information a plus
