Job summary

Bowman Consulting in Tucson, AZ seeks a Senior Manager, Process and Metal to lead metallurgical process design and optimization for mining projects. You will guide junior engineers, develop standards, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, cost-effective solutions.

The role requires a 10+ year background in mining/mineral processing, a metallurgical/chemical engineering degree, and proficiency with MetSim or SysCAD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in metallurgical or chemical engineering required; Master’s preferred.
• Ten or more (10+) years of relevant experience in mining/mineral processing or consulting.
• Qualified Person (QP) or PE license preferred.
• Proficiency in process simulation software (MetSim or SysCAD), Microsoft Office Suite, and familiarity with codes and standards (ASME, MSHA).
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in development of feasibility studies (NI-43-101 reports).

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical resource for junior engineers and project teams.
• Develop best practices and standards within metallurgical/chemical engineering.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design metallurgical processes for various metals and minerals.
• Perform process simulations, material and energy balances, and equipment sizing.
• Design and develop process flow sheets and PIDs.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Prepare technical reports, specifications, and deliverables for client review.
• Support project planning, cost estimation, and scheduling activities.
• Specify metallurgical test work programs and analyze data to optimize design.
• Provide strategic analysis for project optimization and cost savings.
