Job Summary
In partnership with site leadership, responsible for delivering industry-leading maintenance performance and asset utilization. Responsible for achieving excellence in cost management, plant and vehicle availability, asset utilization, plant productivity, performance improvements, and maintenance compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Maintenance Operations Performance
- Responsible for delivering maintenance performance that meets or exceeds business needs.
- Develop and implement high-performance maintenance operations through WM standards, technician training, best practices, audits, and compliance with WM and regulatory standards.
- Conduct audits and report performance to the Plant Leadership team; develop action plans to address low performance areas.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with WM maintenance and safety standards, as well as regulatory requirements.
- Maintain knowledge of maintenance and operations of all plant equipment.
- Collaborate with Plant management on cost studies to reduce operating costs.
Utilization/Asset Management Performance
- Partner with Engineering, Fleet, and HE on effective asset acquisition.
- Manage the relocation and disposal of assets effectively.
- Work with equipment manufacturers to optimize equipment performance, maintenance, and costs.
Business Partner
- Act as an advisor to Field and Area Leadership on maintenance budgets, capital projects, and hiring/development of Plant Management.
- Lead cost, productivity, and improvement strategies in the recycling business related to maintenance.
- Provide advice on business opportunities and issues as requested by Field Leadership.
Fleet Leader
- Review and advise on technology initiatives and process improvement projects to enhance equipment performance and shop productivity.
- Oversee the implementation and ongoing management of Plant Maintenance Managers' development and succession planning.
Qualifications
The requirements listed below are necessary to perform the job.
A. Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Plant/Military Maintenance Management or similar; or High School Diploma/GED with four years of relevant experience.
- Ten years of plant/military maintenance management experience and three years of leading management employees.
B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements
None required.
C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities
- Experience in plant maintenance management and supervisory skills.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and political skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to coach and improve team performance.
- Project management skills and knowledge of group infrastructure.
- Experience leading diverse teams and building trust.
- OSHA training; electrical, hydraulic, PLC, and fabrication knowledge.
