The Repair & Maintenance Engineering position focuses on planning, designing and implementing maintenance programs to optimize the availability and productivity of manufacturing facilities and equipment. A Senior Manager position typically manages a department or small unit that includes multiple teams led by managers and/or team leaders. Problems faced are often complex and require extensive investigation and analysis. This position requires the ability to influence others to accept practices and approaches, and the ability to communicate and influence executive leadership on a regular basis.
Develops and ensures adoption of short to mid-term strategy/results and execution of functional strategy for the operational direction of the department
Oversees continuous improvement/automation implementation activities
Leverages institutional knowledge for strategy development
Plans and coordinates maintenance engineering work, including review of mechanical and electrical engineering specifications
Performs engineering review of proposed new equipment designs to assess reliability, ease of maintenance, and availability of replacement parts
Liaises with production staff to coordinate repair work, statutory safety inspections and supply of new plant and equipment with production schedules
Participates in the installation and commissioning of new equipment
Supports relationships through strong communication and negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders
Influences, coaches, and develops direct reports/teams.
Bachelor’s degree; 8+ years of relevant experience including 5+ years management or leadership experience Or Master’s degree; 6+ years of relevant experience including 4-5 years management or leadership experience
