Job summary

Bridgestone Americas, Inc. is seeking a Health & Safety professional within Legal, Compliance & Audit. The role focuses on developing and implementing policies to identify and mitigate workplace hazards and conducting audits to ensure regulatory compliance.

The position involves investigating incidents, training staff on safety protocols, and maintaining records of injuries and absences to support regulatory reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience; OR 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in safety, compliance, or labor health and safety preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises support roles with responsibility for performance review/management and training.
• Sets day-to-day objectives, organizes workflow, provides guidance, and supports goals.
• Leverages prior experience to solve issues within guidelines and policies.
• Works closely with specialization manager and communicates with management.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

• Employee/Labor Health & Safety work encompasses activities related to the wellbeing of employees including:
• Developing and implementing policies and practices to identify/mitigate hazardous conditions within the workplace
• Identifying potential workplace hazards, unsafe equipment, work practices, and working conditions
• Investigating accidents and liaising with engineers, management, and health and safety regulatory authorities to identify causes of accidents and prevent their recurrence
• Providing advice and training on safety protocols and conducting audits to ensure compliance with organization and government standards related to employee heath and safety
• Maintaining and analyzing records of workplace injuries, illness, and absences to identify areas of concern and provide information required by regulatory agencies

Responsibilities

• Supervises support roles with responsibility for performance review/management and training
• Sets day-to-day objectives, organizes workflow, provides guidance, and supports achievement of goals for team
• Leverages prior experience to solve issues using latitude of existing guidelines, also recommending changes within specialization policies/procedures
• Works closely with specialization manager
• Communicates regularly with management and infrequently with executive leadership
• Other duties as assigned
