Job summary

Qualifications

  • Supervises support roles with responsibility for performance review/management and training.
  • Sets day-to-day objectives, organizes workflow, provides guidance, and supports goals.
  • Leverages prior experience to solve issues within guidelines and policies.
  • Works closely with specialization manager and communicates with management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Summary
  • Employee/Labor Health & Safety work encompasses activities related to the wellbeing of employees including:
  • Developing and implementing policies and practices to identify/mitigate hazardous conditions within the workplace
  • Identifying potential workplace hazards, unsafe equipment, work practices, and working conditions
  • Investigating accidents and liaising with engineers, management, and health and safety regulatory authorities to identify causes of accidents and prevent their recurrence
  • Providing advice and training on safety protocols and conducting audits to ensure compliance with organization and government standards related to employee heath and safety
  • Maintaining and analyzing records of workplace injuries, illness, and absences to identify areas of concern and provide information required by regulatory agencies
Responsibilities
  • Supervises support roles with responsibility for performance review/management and training
  • Sets day-to-day objectives, organizes workflow, provides guidance, and supports achievement of goals for team
  • Leverages prior experience to solve issues using latitude of existing guidelines, also recommending changes within specialization policies/procedures
  • Works closely with specialization manager
  • Communicates regularly with management and infrequently with executive leadership
  • Other duties as assigned
