Job summary

KPMG LLP is seeking a Senior Manager to join our Mergers & Acquisitions practice in the Chicago area. You will advise clients on a full spectrum of corporate tax services, focusing on planning, research, due diligence, and tax structuring for M&A transactions.

You will work with a multi-disciplinary team, partner with senior members on complex tax issues, and mentor staff. A CPA or JD/LLM or Enrolled Agent designation is required, with a path to obtain additional credentials as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum eight years of federal tax and/or M&A experience in public accounting, corporate tax department, or law firm.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university.
• Licensed CPA, JD/LLM or Enrolled Agent; must obtain at least one approved designation within 1 year if not already.
• Broad knowledge of corporate tax matters across industries.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and client service teams.
• Excellent research and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on corporate tax services including planning, research, and M&A activities.
• Work on due diligence and tax structuring, communicating findings to clients.
• Collaborate with senior M&A Tax team members on technical tax issues like consolidated returns, S corps, partnerships, LLCs, LLPs.
• Assist clients with bankruptcy planning, workouts, restructurings, tax basis, earnings and profits, and section 382 studies.
• Develop, motivate, and train staff and managers.
