KPMG LLP is seeking a Senior Associate to join the Mergers & Acquisitions practice in a tax advisory capacity in the United States. The role focuses on planning, research, and execution of corporate tax services within M&A projects.

Candidate should bring 3+ years of federal tax and/or M&A experience from public accounting, corporate tax, or law firms, with strong research and writing abilities and a track record in managing multiple engagements.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of federal tax and/or M&A experience in a public accounting firm, corporate tax dept, or law firm.
  • Bachelor's degree, JD, LL.M. in taxation, or MST from an accredited school.
  • Knowledge of corporate tax matters across industries.
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements and client service teams.
  • Strong research and writing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on corporate tax services including planning, research, and other mergers and acquisitions activities.
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team that focuses on delivering due diligence and tax structuring services, and communicates findings to clients.
  • Assist clients with bankruptcy planning, out of court workouts, debt restructurings, tax basis, earnings and profits, and section 382 studies.
  • Liaise with target company finance/accounting departments and tax advisors to gather facts for tax risk analysis.
  • Develop, motivate, and train staff-level team members.
