Job description

Responsibilities
  • Providing advice on guild and union agreements above the line and below the line (compensation, pension and health, residuals, credit, working conditions, clip reuse and other issues related to the applicable collective bargaining agreements)
  • Advising internal groups on the terms of guild and union agreements
  • Advising the business and legal affairs teams on applicable guild and union language for various talent agreements
  • Negotiating above‑the‑line and below‑the‑line guild and union agreements in both multi‑employer and single‑employer negotiations
  • Investigating and resolving labor‑related grievances
  • Consulting with Production HR on investigations involving union‑covered employees
  • Training internal teams on guild and union agreements
  • Overseeing outside counsel on labor arbitrations or other legal proceedings
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of film/TV labor relations experience, including direct negotiation of guild and union agreements (both U.S. and international) and in‑house support at a production company or major entertainment studio
  • Established, strong working relationships with entertainment industry guilds, unions, and other studio labor executives
  • Practical knowledge of evolving “made for new media” landscapes
  • Broad experience in related areas such as production legal work and physical production is welcome and valued
  • Excellent collaboration skills

  • Strong analytical skills and good judgment
  • Ability to work proactively, independently, and reliably under tight timeframes in a fast‑paced environment

Compensation

Compensation for this role consists solely of an annual salary. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. The range for this role is $180,000 – $690,000.
