Responsibilities

• Assist in review and analysis of talent agreements across film, TV, streaming, digital media, endorsements, and licensing.
• Draft, revise, and organize deal memos, short-form and long-form contracts, amendments, and related docs.
• Support senior business affairs executives in deal negotiations and contract administration.
• Conduct legal and business research related to compensation, rights ownership, and union requirements.
• Identify potential legal, financial, and business risks within agreements and escalate as needed.
• Coordinate with agents, attorneys, clients, and internal stakeholders to facilitate deal review and execution.
• Track contract status, key terms, obligations, and deadlines throughout the lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with SAG-AFTRA, WGA, DGA and other guild/union requirements.
• Maintain accurate contract records and support reporting/documentation initiatives.
• Stay informed on industry trends, deal structures, and market developments.

Position Overview

The Junior Business Affairs Executive supports the review, coordination, and administration of client deals and agreements. This role provides an opportunity to develop a strong understanding of entertainment industry contracts, union regulations, and business affairs practices across film, television, digital media, and brand partnerships. Working closely with senior team members, the individual will assist in analyzing deal terms, tracking agreements, and helping ensure that client interests are protected while minimizing legal and financial risk.

Duties

• Assist in the review and analysis of talent agreements across film, television, streaming, digital media, endorsements, and licensing.
• Draft, revise, and organize deal memos, short-form agreements, long-form contracts, amendments, and related documentation.
• Support senior business affairs executives in deal negotiations and contract administration.
• Conduct legal and business research related to compensation structures, rights ownership, union requirements, and industry practices.
• Help identify potential legal, financial, and business risks within agreements and elevate issues as appropriate.
• Coordinate with agents, attorneys, clients, and other internal stakeholders to facilitate deal review and execution.
• Track contract status, key terms, obligations, and deadlines throughout the deal lifecycle.
• Assist in ensuring compliance with applicable guild and union regulations, including SAG-AFTRA, WGA, and DGA requirements.
• Maintain accurate contract records and support ongoing reporting and documentation initiatives.
• Stay informed on entertainment industry trends, evolving deal structures, and market developments.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active admission to the New York or California Bar required.
• 1-3 years of relevant experience in business affairs, entertainment law, transactional legal practice, or a related field preferred.
• Working knowledge of entertainment contracts, deal structures, and industry practices.
• Strong legal research, drafting, analytical, and issue-spotting skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.

• Strong interest in developing a career in business affairs within the entertainment industry.

• Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience at a talent agency, entertainment law firm, studio, production company or branding agency.
• Exposure to digital media, influencer/brand partnership, appearance, film, television, and NDA agreements.
• Familiarity with guild and union agreements and regulations.

Compensation

$100-110K
