Job description

Pacific International is proud to partner with a global leader in rooftop solar mounting and racking solutions, supporting installers, developers, and distribution partners across residential, commercial, and utility-scale solar projects worldwide. The organization is seeking a Senior Manager, IT to provide operational and technical leadership for the company's growing US IT function, based in North Andover, MA (with additional sites in Hayward, CA and Phoenix, AZ). Reporting to the Global Director of IT & Information Services, this individual will be responsible for leading a small, distributed IT team while developing high-performing specialists, driving operational excellence, and serving as the critical link between US operations and the global IT organization.

This is a hands-on leadership role within a fully in-house IT environment — no managed service providers or systems integrators — where technical credibility matters as much as people leadership. The Senior Manager, IT will play a critical role in rebuilding team cohesion and stakeholder trust, aligning US activities with global standards, and supporting the company's continued growth, with a clear path to take on broader regional and global scope over time.

Key Responsibilities

• Provides leadership and direction for the US IT function, ensuring effective delivery of IT services, infrastructure support, and operational excellence across multiple locations.
• Leads, coaches, and develops a geographically dispersed team of IT specialists, fostering engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Acts as the primary IT partner to US business leadership, translating operational needs into scalable technology solutions and priorities.
• Partners closely with global IT leadership to ensure US operations align with governance, security requirements, and strategic technology initiatives.
• Maintains hands-on technical credibility by actively engaging in infrastructure, workplace technology, networking, Microsoft 365, and end-user support as needed.
• Builds trusted relationships across the organization, promoting proactive communication between IT and business leaders.
• Champions a collaborative, high-performance culture built on trust, transparency, and accountability.
• Contributes to IT strategy, modernization efforts, and emerging technology initiatives that support business growth.

The Ideal Candidate

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Minimum 5 years of progressive, hands-on IT/infrastructure experience, including 2+ years of direct people leadership.
• Genuine, hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, Azure, networking, and endpoint management — this is a fully in-house environment, so vendor-oversight experience alone will not be a fit.
• Demonstrated ability to balance technical expertise with people leadership, operating as both a coach to the team and a credible technical partner to the business.
• Comfort operating within formal IT governance — change management, security standards, and structured processes — without needing a managed-services team to execute the work.
• Working knowledge of ITSM platforms (e.g., TOPdesk, ServiceNow) and incident/change/service management practice.
• Open to growing into a broader regional or global role over time; prior global or matrixed experience is a plus but not required.
• Must be based within a reasonable commute of North Andover, MA (preferred), Hayward, CA, or Phoenix, AZ; visa sponsorship is not available for this role. Relocation assistance may be considered.
