Job summary

BART is seeking a senior leader to manage the Inventory and Stores Logistics Division within Procurement and Materials Management. The role reports to the Director of Procurement and oversees the end-to-end flow of materials, audits, and budget administration across the district.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience in inventory control, staff supervision, and cross-divisional collaboration, ensuring efficient storage, tracking, and procurement practices in a large transit organization.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to present to boards and committees.
• Experience managing staff, including union-represented employees, in a bargaining environment.
• Expertise in inventory control, audits, cost accounting, and using inventory software.

Responsibilities

• Directs the Inventory and Stores Logistics Division, ensuring efficient material flow.
• Develops and administers division budgets and staff training.
• Monitors inventory audits, space utilization, and disposition of obsolete stock.
• Oversees procurement of storage facilities and warranty control materials.
• Serves as liaison across divisions to resolve issues and improve procedures.
