Job summary

Animal Care Centers of NYC (ACC) is seeking a Senior Manager, Individual Giving to lead our comprehensive annual giving program, cultivate donors, and expand ACC’s donor base in support of ending animal homelessness in NYC.

You will manage portfolios, develop fundraising appeals, and collaborate across the Philanthropy team to drive engagement, stewardship, and revenue growth through email, direct mail, and online campaigns.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 5–7 years nonprofit fundraising experience including annual giving.
• Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills in donor communications.
• Experience managing a portfolio of individual donors and developing cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies.
• Experience with donor databases and fundraising platforms; preference for Raiser’s Edge NXT, GoFundMe Pro, Mailchimp.
• Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to deadlines.
• Strong analytical skills to evaluate fundraising results and donor data.
• Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication; ability to build donor relationships.
• Ability to handle sensitive donor information and maintain confidentiality.
• Experience supervising staff.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Manage annual giving: acquisition, renewal, and upgrade via email, direct mail, and other individual giving initiatives.
• Develop and manage the annual appeals calendar and plan, write, and execute solicitation, cultivation, and stewardship communications to support annual revenue goals.
• Manage a portfolio of donors in the $250–$5,000 range, developing personalized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies to deepen relationships and increase donor engagement and giving over time.
• Manage and grow ACC’s Boroughbred Buddy monthly giving program, including strategies to acquire, retain, steward, and upgrade monthly donors while strengthening long-term participation.
• Support the Philanthropy department’s moves management strategy by identifying opportunities to cultivate and advance individual donors through the giving pipeline, from initial giving through increased levels of engagement and support.
