Job summary

DataJobs is hiring a senior data/AI engineering leader to design and execute an enterprise-grade data and AI foundation for Growth[x]. You will oversee end-to-end pipelines, knowledge cortexes, and governance, partnering with CIOs and the Growth team to ensure scalable, trustworthy AI solutions.

You will drive architecture decisions, lead a small high-leverage team, and deliver reusable skills and workflows across Peraton[x] platforms while communicating progress to leadership and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of progressive experience in data/AI, solution architecture, or digital transformation.
• 5+ years leading technical teams.
• Ownership of an enterprise AI/analytics platform from architecture through adoption.
• Strong knowledge of agentic AI systems, prompt engineering, and knowledge graphs.
• Experience with shared infrastructure models and centralized data platforms.
• Experience with CIO offices or IT governance functions.
• Strong SQL skills and relational databases (PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server).
• Hands-on data pipelines with Airflow, Informatica, Talend, or dbt.
• Experience with AWS and/or Azure data services (Azure Synapse, ADLS, ADF, BigQuery).
• Proficiency with Power BI and Alteryx.
• Familiarity with data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and data lake/lakehouse.
• LLM-based systems knowledge for retrieval-augmented generation and knowledge graphs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with execs, CIOs, and engineers.
• US citizenship and willingness to obtain TS/SCI clearance.

• Convert growth steps into event-triggered data packages, dashboards, and workflows.
• Redesign workflows around AI with Growth process owners.
• Collaborate with Peraton[x] team to evolve Growth operations.
• Upgrade BAP prompts and playbooks into reusable skills and flows.
• Build training materials for capture managers, solution architects, and pricing leads.
• Lead a small, high-leverage team and communicate progress to Growth leadership.

Job description

Lead and build the data and AI engineering foundation for Growth[x], including pipelines, integrations, knowledge cortex development, and governance at enterprise scale.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and manage data pipelines, cortexes, integrations, and governance to keep Growth[x] trustworthy, secure, and usable across the enterprise.
• Architect and build, alongside the team, the data and AI foundation powering Growth[x].
• Own the end-to-end technical vision for Growth[x], connecting opportunity identification, qualification, capture, color teams, pricing inputs, past performance, solutioning, and proposal development into a single AI-enabled workflow on Peraton[x].
• Design and stand up knowledge cortexes including ontology, mission briefing, curated content, and KG structure.
• Set standards for building, versioning, and maintaining cortexes as source material changes.
• Lead integration with CIO managed and governed systems of record Growth[x] depends on, plus the Peraton Data Warehouse and cross-corporate functionally owned SharePoint repositories.
• Drive data-quality remediation to ensure AI outputs are trustworthy.
• Convert end-to-end growth steps into event-triggered data packages, intuitive dashboards, and skills/workflows on Peraton[x].
• Partner with Growth process owners to redesign workflows around AI, not by bolting AI onto legacy steps.
• Partner with the Peraton[x] team to keep Growth operations optimized and evolving with the platform.
• Upgrade an existing library of BAP prompts and playbooks into hardened, reusable skills and flows with clear inputs, outputs, and quality gates.
• Build training curriculum and enablement collateral (tool-specific and process-specific) to enable capture managers, proposal managers, solution architects, and pricing leads to operate Growth[x].
• Lead and manage a small, high-leverage team, setting technical direction, prioritizing the roadmap, and coaching technical operators.
• Serve as senior point of accountability to Growth leadership, IT, security, and the Peraton[x] platform team, communicating progress, risks, and trade-offs in business terms.

Requirements

• 12+ years of progressive experience in data/AI, solution architecture, or digital transformation; 5+ years leading technical teams.
• Demonstrated ownership of an enterprise AI or analytics platform from architecture through adoption (not limited to pilots).
• Strong working knowledge of agentic AI systems, including prompt engineering, retrieval/knowledge graphs, evaluation, and productionization patterns.
• Experience working within shared infrastructure models, consuming centrally managed data platforms without owning underlying infrastructure.
• Experience working with or alongside a CIO office or enterprise IT governance function in a consumer or integrator capacity.
• Strong command of SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server).
• Hands-on experience designing and implementing data pipelines using tools such as Apache Airflow, Informatica, Talend, dbt, or equivalent.
• Experience with AWS and/or Microsoft Azure, including managed data services such as Azure Synapse, ADLS, ADF, and BigQuery.
• Proficiency with Power BI, Alteryx, or equivalent BI tools.
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and data lake/lakehouse architecture.
• Working knowledge of LLM-based systems including retrieval-augmented generation, knowledge graphs/ontologies, prompt engineering, and evaluation sufficient to design the data and cortex layer beneath them.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across executive stakeholders, CIO-office counterparts, and hands-on engineers.
• US citizenship.
• Willing to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance.

Desired Qualifications

• Working knowledge of the federal Business Acquisition Process, Shipley-style capture and proposal processes, color teams, and proposal artifacts.
• Knowledge of the NIST AI Risk Management Framework (AI RMF) and its data-related implications.
• Relevant certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate, dbt Certified Developer, CDMP (Certified Data Management Professional), or equivalent.
• Active TS/SCI security clearance.
