Qualifications

• Master's degree in AI/ML, CS, engineering, bioinformatics or related field with 3+ years of hands-on AI experience.
• Experience delivering production software or AI applications and leading complex technical work.
• Strong AI/GenAI fundamentals, including Python, APIs, version control, testing and cloud delivery.
• Practical understanding of large language models, RAGs, evaluation and agentic workflows.
• Ability to reason about data access, security, reliability and maintainability, and to partner with specialists for implementation.
• Evidence of effective technical mentoring and stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering delivery of reusable GenAI apps and scientific workflows across R&D.
• Translate product priorities into technical designs and work packages; define interfaces.
• Guide evidence-grounded generation, retrieval and agent workflow implementation.
• Establish code review, automated testing and release practices; ensure governance.
• Coordinate integration with data products and vendor services; plan handoffs.
• Mentor scientists and engineers; manage teams and contractors against deliverables.
• Communicate tradeoffs and capacity constraints to leadership; sequence scope.
• Provide delivery and technical leadership; oversee organizational staffing.
