The Senior Manager, Games Marketing & Publishing will execute marketing and publishing initiatives for our growing portfolio of video game and interactive entertainment projects. This role will drive go-to-market execution from announcement through launch and post-launch growth, helping bring Critical Role's storytelling strengths to global gaming audiences under the direction of senior leadership.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience supporting successful game launches, understands creator-led and fandom-driven brands, can execute across both brand and performance marketing, and thrives on turning strategic plans into effective day-to-day execution in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment.
This is a hybrid position that requires availability for in-office work at our Burbank, CA location 2-3 days per week.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

- Executes marketing and publishing plans for video game projects across positioning, announcement, launch, post-launch beats, and lifecycle activities, in partnership with senior leadership.
- Manages day-to-day execution of marketing roadmaps across multiple game releases and interactive products; tracks launch-readiness milestones, KPI reporting, and budget spend against plan.
- Supports cross-functional greenlight, milestone, launch-readiness, and post-launch business reviews by preparing campaign materials, performance reporting, and status updates.
- Helps translate Critical Role's worlds, characters, and storytelling pillars into clear, on-brand messaging for gaming audiences beyond the existing fan base while respecting the expectations of the core community.
- Supports audience segmentation, player insights, and competitive analysis to inform messaging and franchise marketing plans set by leadership.
- Manages performance marketing execution and day-to-day budget tracking in partnership with internal or external media, analytics, and agency partners; monitors UA, attribution, and cohort analysis to flag optimization opportunities.
- Executes integrated campaigns across digital, social, creator/influencer, PR, community, events, lifecycle/CRM, platform, and owned channels.
- Manages creative briefs and campaign asset production for trailers, key art, store assets, social content, creator toolkits, and player-facing messaging, ensuring on-time, on-brand delivery.
- Coordinates with external development studios, publishers/distribution partners, platform partners, agencies, and creative vendors to execute co-marketing opportunities and campaign deliverables.
- Helps implement and maintain the processes, playbooks, and tools needed to run Critical Role's games marketing function day-to-day.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of marketing experience in games or interactive entertainment.
- Experience supporting or executing marketing campaigns for PC, console, mobile, live-service, premium, free-to-play, or licensed/IP-driven games.
- Solid understanding of the full game lifecycle, from announcements and community ramp through launch, post-launch content, and live operations.
- Passion for gaming, fantasy worlds, tabletop gaming, fandom behavior, creator ecosystems, and community-driven entertainment.
- Strong analytical fluency with experience tracking KPIs, reporting on campaign performance, and monitoring player-growth and business metrics such as wishlists, installs, conversion, revenue, retention, reactivation, and community growth.
- Experience managing project budgets, timelines, and external agencies or vendors.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines simultaneously.
- Comfortable operating in a highly entrepreneurial environment with evolving processes and shifting priorities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with licensed IP, transmedia franchises, creator-led brands, tabletop/RPG communities, or fandom-first entertainment.
- Experience marketing games from new or emerging IP, not only established franchises.
- Experience with Steam, console storefronts, mobile app stores, first-party platform partners, and/or wishlist and store-page optimization.
- Experience working within a growing or newly formed publishing or games marketing team.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
