Job summary

Choice Financial Group seeks a Manager of Financial Risk to lead and mature multiple risk programs across the Second Line of Defense. You will establish governance, oversee risk monitoring, and drive model validation for the bank’s risk architecture.

This role requires seasoned leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and a data-driven approach to risk management. The position emphasizes building robust risk indicators, managing the risk scorecard, and partnering with risk teams and fintech

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Risk Management or related field.
• 8–10 years of relevant experience.
• Master’s degree or FRM/CFA preferred.
• Proven ability to build, develop, implement, and mature risk programs, policies, processes, and controls.
• Proven ability to develop and support the establishment of key risk indicator metrics and ensuring monitoring and reporting.
• Experience analyzing large data sets and presenting insights for decision-making.
• Skilled in using analytic platforms like Power BI, Alteryx.
• Experience using Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) technologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and maturity of a comprehensive risk strategy across Second Line of Defense perspectives.
• Establish and maintain governance frameworks for risk programs to align with risk appetite.
• Oversee monitoring processes for risk categories, model risk management, and programs with metrics and escalations.
• Oversee internal and external model validation activities.
• Manage model inventory and end-user tools governance.
• Oversee independent loan reviews and credit portfolio oversight.
• Collaborate with investment portfolio management to manage risk in portfolios.
• Lead credible challenge processes for stress testing and enterprise-wide aggregation.
• Develop risk scorecards, dashboards, and risk data reporting.
