Morningstar Credit Ratings, LLC in Chicago seeks a Senior Manager – Financial Reporting to lead the global consolidated financial statements, SEC filings, earnings releases, and board reports. You will oversee stock compensation and lease accounting, reporting to the Director – Financial Reporting, in a full-time role at our Chicago office.

Responsibilities include preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual statements under US GAAP, coordinating with auditors for quarterly and year-end audits, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required.
• CPA is required.
• 8–10 years of accounting experience, including Big 4 and/or SEC reporting at a large multinational public company.
• Big 4 public accounting experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with attention to detail, independently and in a team setting.
• Excellent documentation skills for audit work papers and SOX reviews.
• Knowledge of FCCS is a plus; working knowledge of XBRL is preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting.
• Research and resolve complex financial reporting issues and unusual transactions.
• Develop and maintain accounting and financial reporting policies and procedures.
• Oversee monthly close activities including stock-based compensation and journal entries.
• Ensure SOX compliance and internal controls; identify process improvements.
• Coordinate with auditors for quarterly and year-end audits.
• Oversee XBRL tagging with external vendor for 10-Qs and 10-K.
• Lead the Financial Reporting team and manage performance and change.
• Manage FCCS application and Global Chart of Accounts.
• Prepare ad hoc analyses for management and auditors.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
