Addison Group in Reston, VA is seeking a Senior Financial Reporting Manager to oversee the preparation and review of quarterly and annual reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC requirements.

The role leads a financial reporting team, coordinates timelines, interfaces with external auditors, and partners with investor relations and other functions to strengthen controls and disclosure practices. A CPA and 10+ years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent required.
• CPA certification is required.
• 10+ years of accounting and financial reporting experience.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC rules and regulations.
• Public accounting and/or relevant SEC, banking, or financial services reporting experience strongly preferred.
• Strong leadership experience, including staff development, coaching, and performance management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation and review of quarterly and annual financial reports.
• Review financial data for completeness, accuracy, and reasonableness.
• Manage reporting timelines and coordinate the distribution of reporting drafts to key stakeholders.
• Research and review complex technical accounting and financial reporting matters.
• Support disclosure requirements involving derivatives, fair value, credit losses, investments, and other complex accounting topics.
• Maintain current knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC rules and regulations, and applicable industry reporting requirements.
• Assign and oversee projects across the financial reporting team to ensure accuracy and timely completion.
• Coach, develop, and provide performance management support to team members.
• Evaluate existing reporting processes and recommend improvements to strengthen efficiency and controls.
• Lead or participate in working groups and committees focused on financial reporting matters.
• Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory stakeholders.
• Support financial reporting systems, data collection processes, and related documentation.
• Partner with investor relations, capital markets, and other internal teams on reporting-related matters
