Job summary

Addison Group is partnering with a dynamic, growth-focused company to hire a Director of Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting. This is a high-visibility, leadership role reporting to the executive team and partnering with auditors and cross-functional leaders.

You will lead external reporting (10-K/10-Q/8-K), standard-setting research, and SOX controls while mentoring the accounting and financial reporting team in a fast-paced private/public company environment in Bellevue, WA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience.
• Prior Big 4 public accounting experience required; strong SEC reporting in a public company environment.
• Deep understanding of US GAAP, SEC regulations, and technical accounting matters.

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation and review of internal and external financial reporting (Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K) and other SEC filings.
• Ensure financial statements and disclosures comply with U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and company accounting policies.
• Oversee technical accounting research and new accounting standard implementations.
• Lead technical accounting assessments for acquisitions, financings, revenue arrangements, and stock-based compensation.
• Prepare and review technical accounting memorandums and accounting position papers to support compliance.
• Research complex accounting matters and document conclusions.
• Evaluate the accounting impact of significant transactions (acquisitions, financing, revenue recognition, stock compensation).
• Develop and maintain accounting policies for consistent application of guidance.
• Manage quarterly and annual external audit process and coordinate with auditors.
• Partner cross-functionally with Accounting, FP&A, Legal, Tax, IR, and operations leaders.
• Drive improvements in financial reporting processes and internal controls; support SOX compliance.
• Assist with executive and Board-level reporting materials; monitor SEC developments.
• Mentor and develop accounting and financial reporting team members.
