Job Scope & Responsibilities
Lead the global end-to-end Accounts Payable process, driving harmonization, standardization, and continuous improvement across regions and entities within the shared service framework.
Serve as the strategic owner of AP-related policies, controls, and governance frameworks, ensuring alignment with global finance strategy, SOX compliance, and internal/external audit requirements.
Lead global AP transformation initiatives, including automation, digitalization, and system improvement projects (e.g., RPA, OCR, AI, SAP upgrades), partnering with IT, Global Process Owners (GPOs), and business units.
Act as the AP policy architect, leading the drafting, review, and periodic update of global AP policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with US GAAP, local statutory, and tax compliance.
Define important metrics, SLAs, and process health indicators, supervise global AP performance, identify gaps and drive data-driven decision-making to improve process outcomes.
Establish and govern the global AP control framework, including SOX narratives, risk assessments, mitigation plans, and control testing across the AP process chain.
Drive collaborator engagement and process alignment across Procurement, Treasury, Tax, IT, and business units to ensure a coordinated Procure-to-Pay (P2P) lifecycle.
Support organizational change and communication, providing leadership during organizational changes, system implementations, and process realignments.
Partner with external advisors, auditors, and compliance teams to ensure standard processes and regulatory adherence across all countries of operation.
Nurture a global mentality and process culture, encouraging collaboration, innovation, and scalability across all regions and shared service teams.
Key Skills & Proficiencies
Strong expertise in end-to-end AP or P2P process design, ownership, and governance in a global shared service or multinational environment.
Proven track record in driving large-scale finance transformation projects, including automation (e.g., RPA, Power Automate), digital tools, and systems integration.
Deep understanding of SOX compliance, financial controls, and risk management in an AP or finance process context.
Strong project management, collaborator engagement, and change leadership capabilities across functions and geographies.
Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills with a data-driven mentality and continuous improvement orientation.
Strong communication, presentation, and influencing skills to interact optimally with executive leadership, auditors, and cross-functional teams.
Sophisticated knowledge of SAP ERP (preferably S/4HANA) and supporting P2P or automation platforms (e.g., Ariba, Power Automate).
Education & Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
CA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent professional certification is a plus.
Minimum 15 years of finance experience, with at least:
5-10 years in P2P/AP process design or ownership at a global or regional level.
5–10 years in process improvement and transformation, including automation tools.
5-10 years of leadership experience handling cross-functional or virtual/global teams.
