Overview
The Senior Facilities Manager is responsible for leading and providing custodial and maintenance services/repairs for the facility property, building, grounds and production. The Senior Facilities Manager manages day-to-day operations and provides leadership and direction to the functional team.
Responsibilities
- Assure the optimal functioning of building systems including mechanical, fire/life safety, etc.
- Lead the coordination and scheduling of routine facility & production maintenance and repair using maintenance, calibration, custodial staff
- Assist in creating and monitoring performance against the facility’s budget
- Oversee vendors/contractors for routine maintenance and repair of the facility, utilities and process equipment as needed
- Manage and train maintenance, custodial and support employees in the maintenance of production equipment and buildings & grounds
- Participate in long‑range planning to support future needs and growth, including help with plans for renovations or additions
- Ensure workplace safety and security within CFR, EPA, OSHA, ISO standards across all areas, and assure compliance with other related codes/regulations for the team and contractors
- Ensure that the facility consistently represents the company through the most efficient use of resources
- Conduct performance reviews of direct reports
- Maintain and ensure adherence to company quality and quantity standards for the team
- Mentor and support development of team
- Make recommendations for staff and equipment including significant input into personnel matters
- Review and approve documentation, expense reports and vendor invoices, etc.
- Foster and maintain a workplace culture respectful and supportive of individual differences
- Work and interact effectively and professionally with and for others throughout various levels of the global organization
- Strictly adhere to safety requirements
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
- Exhibit excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work in collaborative and independent work situations and environments with minimal supervision
- Remain calm and receptive in fast‑paced or emergency situations
Qualifications
- Minimum of an associate’s or BS degree in a related field, or experience equivalent to provide a comparable background
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in facility/maintenance leadership, or management strongly preferred
- Familiarity with construction, architecture and various systems, such as mechanical and electrical
- Budgeting experience and strong negotiation skills
- Knowledge of building management systems, maintenance & calibration software preferred
- Experience with project management and project management tools
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Effective oral and written communication skills
Physical Requirements / Work Environment
- Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch; or crawl; and talk; or hear
- Occasionally required to sit
- Occasionally lifts and/or moves more than 50 pounds
- Requires close vision, distance vision, color vision and depth perception
- Ability to travel approximately 20% as necessary to other facilities
