Job summary

ProCaps Laboratories is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead and direct subordinates in daily preventive maintenance and safe facility operations. You will coordinate with departments to maintain and upgrade equipment, enforce policies, and manage contractor work across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.

The role requires strong supervisory skills, experience with CMMS, and the ability to forecast improvements in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Requires High School Diploma or equivalent with 5 years of supervisory experience and contractor management.
  • Knowledge of facility equipment and quality control procedures in a food manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Ability to forecast, analyze, and identify improvement opportunities in building maintenance.
  • Experience managing capital projects for facility upgrades (HVAC, boilers, chillers, elevators, lighting, etc.).
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to lead facilities staff to completion of duties.
  • HAVC knowledge is required and proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and partner with departments to maintain, repair and upgrade facility equipment.
  • Enforce policies to support the facility and departments.
  • Implement maintenance techniques and provide training to facilities staff.
  • Direct installation and repair of facilities equipment (plumbing, electrical, mechanical).
  • Schedule and supervise all forms of machine repair/maintenance; manage maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate contractor and vendor services for equipment repair.
  • Utilize CMMS to schedule and document preventive maintenance; manage parts inventory.
  • Select staff, coach performance, and communicate on performance and development.
  • Monitor onsite contractors and maintain contractor records; provide backup support to the manager.
  • Collaborate with Process Engineering, Product Development, QA for process improvements.

Other Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and partner with all departments in the facility to maintain, repair and upgrade facility related equipment
  • Enforce existing policies and procedures to directly support the facility and all Departments
  • Implement approved techniques for corrective and preventative maintenance and provide or assist with training to facilities staff
  • Proficiently install and repair:
    • All facilities support equipment within the boundaries of training from available user manuals, corporate instruction, and personal expertise
    • Plumbing, electrical, electronic, and mechanical applications
  • Schedule and supervise all forms of machine repair/maintenance:
    • Direct the installation and repair of facilities related machinery/equipment
    • Manage all maintenance activities related to facility equipment
  • Coordinate services provided by contractor and vendor support related to machinery/equipment repair
  • Ensure effective use of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to regularly schedule and document preventative maintenance of machinery/equipment and assist maintenance team in maintaining an accurate parts inventory
  • Select staff, coach performance, and provide ongoing and timely communication regarding performance, training, and development opportunities
  • Ensure proper monitoring and documentation of onsite contractors. Assist Maintenance and Facility Manager in developing and maintaining contractor records
  • Provide back up support for the Maintenance and Facilities Manager when he/she is out of the plant
  • Coordinate with Process Engineering, Product Development and Quality Assurance for process and continuous improvement
  • Contribute to a working environment that allows all employees equal opportunities for development, growth, and advancement
  • Perform others duties and responsibilities, as assigned
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Work occasionally near mechanical parts and in high places
  • Exposure to cold temperatures in the winter and hot temperatures in the summer
  • Occasional duties in an outside environment
  • Duties are performed primarily in a smoke-free environment
Requirements
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with 5 years of related experience with supervisory skills and contractor management, preferably in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of facility related equipment and quality control procedures used in a food manufacturing environment
  • Ability to forecast, analyze, and identify improvement opportunities in Building Maintenance
  • Manage capital projects related to facility upgrades on all types of equipment including but not limited to HVAC, Boilers, Chilled water systems, Air Compressors, Elevators, Security systems, Lighting and advanced floor and wall coverings
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills in order to be able to lead facilities employees to the completion of their assigned job duties
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to identify problems with facility systems, developing solutions, and implement a course of action
  • HVAC knowledge is required
  • PC Skills including Word, Excel and Outlook, and other corporate software programs or comparable software
  • Safety experience to include the ability to provide proper training and oversight for all Facility employees

  • Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, balance, and reach
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs
  • Push/Pull up to 300 lbs
