Job summary

Buckingham Search is seeking a Senior Manager, External Reporting to join its Corporate Finance & Accounting team. This high-visibility role focuses on technical accounting, SEC reporting, financial policies, and external communications while partnering with finance and operational leaders across a diversified global business. The Senior Manager will report to the Director, External Reporting and will interact with senior leadership. This role requires on-site presence in Chicago.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting is required.
• Active CPA is required.
• 11+ years of progressive accounting experience, including Big 4 exposure.
• Extensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication for senior leadership.
• Experience mentoring and developing team members.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and review of SEC filings, external financial communications, annual reports and earnings releases.
• Monitor new accounting standards and lead implementation.
• Provide technical accounting guidance to finance teams.
• Prepare quarterly accounting and regulatory updates for senior management and Audit Committee.
• Partner with Investor Relations on external communications and disclosures.
• Develop and implement company-wide accounting policies and procedures.
• Oversee key accounting areas including impairment testing and lease accounting.
• Lead and develop team members and support talent development.
