Job summary

Buckingham Search is assisting a leading global manufacturer in identifying a Senior Manager External Reporting & Technical Accounting. This role owns complex technical accounting, SEC reporting, and policy development, collaborating with executive leadership and auditors.

Based at the Glenview campus, you will guide impairment testing, lease accounting, and cash flow reporting while developing a high-performing team and influencing global accounting practices across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting.
• Active CPA license.
• 11+ years of progressive accounting experience including Big 4 exposure.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead Technical Accounting: monitor new accounting standards, assess impact, drive implementation.
• Own SEC Reporting & Disclosures: oversee SEC filings, annual reports, earnings releases, and external communications.
• Partner with Executive Leadership: prepare accounting updates and presentations for senior management and Audit Committee.
• Shape Accounting Policies: develop and implement financial policies across global business.
• Serve as Trusted Advisor: collaborate with finance teams on complex U.S. GAAP matters.
• Oversee Key Reporting Areas: lead impairment testing, lease accounting, cash flow reporting.
• Lead & Develop Talent: manage and mentor team members.
