Job summary

Buckingham Search is partnering with a Fortune 500 global manufacturer to recruit a Senior Manager, External Reporting in Glenview, IL. This high-visibility role oversees technical accounting, financial policies, and SEC reporting, reporting to the Director of External Reporting.

The successful candidate will lead external communications, implement new accounting standards, and mentor accounting professionals in a fast-paced, global environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master's degree in Accounting is required.
• Active CPA license required.
• 11+ years of accounting experience, including recent Big 4 public accounting.
• Direct experience managing and developing teams.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.
• Ability to work onsite five days per week in Glenview, IL during close.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation and review of SEC filings, annual reports, earnings releases, and other external financial communications.
• Monitor new accounting standards, assess impact, and lead implementation efforts.
• Prepare accounting and regulatory updates for senior management and the Audit Committee.
• Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures across business units.
• Advise corporate and business-unit finance teams on complex technical accounting matters.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors on technical accounting, internal controls, and SEC reporting.
• Oversee key reporting areas, including impairment testing, lease accounting, and the consolidated statement of cash flows.
• Manage, mentor, and develop accounting professionals.
• Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance financial reporting and close efficiency.

About the Opportunity
