Job summary

Amazon's Worldwide Environmental Assurance and Protection (EAP) team seeks a Sr. Mgr, EAP to drive cross-organizational alignment on a unified environmental compliance vision and multi-year plans.

You will manage budgets, KPI frameworks, and accountability across VP-level audiences in Operations, Legal, Finance, and Tech. The role requires deep regulatory expertise, strategic leadership, and the ability to translate complex requirements into scalable processes.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of risk management, audit, legal, compliance or related field work including engaging with external stakeholders experience
• 7+ years of team management with 5 or more direct reports experience
• Experience with program management spanning planning, execution and project delivery
• Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or clients
• Experience working with and managing third party vendors
• Bachelor’s degree in the Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, or related field of study
• Experience holding internal and external stakeholders accountable to program milestones through structured controllership and governance mechanisms

Responsibilities

• Establish cross-organizational alignment on a unified environmental compliance vision across all in-scope business units and planning cycles.
• Own the strategic program roadmap including media-specific compliance programs and field execution frameworks.
• Develop multi-year operating plans and budgets balancing immediate compliance with long-term infrastructure investment.
• Build program controllership mechanisms to drive speed, quality, and accountability, surfacing and mitigating risk.
• Communicate strategy and status to Director/VP audiences across operations, legal, finance, and tech.
• Partner with Legal, regulators, consultants, and tech teams to resolve barriers and reduce manual work.
• Define and govern KPI frameworks giving real-time visibility into performance and milestones.
• Lead talent management including hiring and onboarding to build depth.
• Oversee external partners to milestones and quality through audits and governance.
• Work autonomously in a high-ambiguity regulatory environment, defining strategy and structure for scalable compliance.
• Embed compliance objectives into daily operations.
• Travel up to 25–50%.
