Job Description

Maintains a preventive and corrective maintenance program for multiple buildings and work sites to ensure safe and efficient operations. Coordinates construction and maintenance services with all departments, scheduling work and repairs on a priority basis. Organizes the department to facilitate maximal efficiency and effectiveness, ensuring adequate space for machinery, electrical, plumbing, and air conditioning. Manages conflict and stress effectively, promoting positive working relationships with staff and hospital departments. Coordinates projects with private contractors, engineers, architects, and the Office of Design & Construction. Oversees construction projects, including planning, programming, and accomplishing maintenance, repair, and improvements of buildings and infrastructure. Participates in cost control activities, planning and monitoring the utilization of supplies and equipment, and setting standards for equipment usage. Ensures compliance with regulatory guidelines and safety procedures, including OSHA rules, building codes, and licensure requirements. Inspects and tests the emergency generator system and fire alarm systems, ensuring all critical preventive maintenance is completed as required by code. Analyzes monthly income and expense reports, maintaining performance at or below budget, and assists in creating and managing the annual budget. Actively participates in strategic planning, providing tactical oversight for day-to-day operations and future state planning. Identifies and implements process and performance improvement opportunities, continuously monitoring facility key performance indicators. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • General knowledge of building mechanical systems. [Required]
  • General knowledge of Life Safety Code regulations and standards (e.g. AHCA, DNV, NFPA, , OSHA). [Required]
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint. [Required]
  • Organizational and interpersonal skills. [Preferred]
  • Blueprint and construction document interpretation. [Preferred]
  • Able to use spreadsheets for statistical and analytical assignments. [Preferred]

  • Bachelor's [Preferred]

Work Experience
  • 3+ years of healthcare building engineering experience [Required]
  • 3+ years of management/leadership experience [Required]
  • 5+ years of building engineering experience in healthcare, hospitality, commercial, large residential, or equivalent [Required]
Licenses and Certifications
  • Driver's License (DL) [Required]
  • Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) [Preferred]
