Job summary

Walmart is seeking an experienced Energy/Power Systems Engineer to develop and own technical specifications, standards, and commissioning requirements across store, club, and supply chain deployments.

The role includes translating requirements into actionable field guidance, conducting site visits, and ensuring safety, quality, and compliance while collaborating with engineering, construction, and vendor partners. Travel about 50% is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, energy management, or related area.
  • 6 years' experience in energy or power systems engineering.
  • Experience with complex electrical and mechanical infrastructure, construction, installation, commissioning, or operations.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, equipment requirements, scopes of work, and technical standards.
  • Experience developing or enforcing installation, quality, inspection, commissioning, or operational-readiness requirements.
  • Experience coordinating contractors, equipment vendors, engineering partners, and technical teams.
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 50% to active deployment sites.
  • Master's degree in engineering, energy management, or related area (preferred).
  • Supervisory experience leading cross-functional engineering teams (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and own technical specifications, installation standards, inspection criteria, and commissioning requirements.
  • Translate engineering requirements into practical field guidance, checklists, acceptance criteria, and scopes of work.
  • Conduct frequent site visits during construction, installation, commissioning, and turnover.
  • Validate safety, quality, workmanship, and compliance with established standards.
  • Identify field issues, recurring defects, and execution risks.
  • Coordinate resolution with Engineering, Construction, contractors, vendors, and other partners.
  • Incorporate field lessons learned, technology changes, and operational feedback into specifications, standards, designs, and deployment processes.
  • Establish quality metrics, vendor accountability measures, and feedback mechanisms.
  • Drive consistent and scalable infrastructure deployment across Walmart's stores, clubs, and supply chain facilities.
  • Partner across Engineering, Construction, Operations, Procurement, Finance, Realty, Global Tech, Legal, and external vendors
