Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human resources, labor relations, business administration, or related field preferred or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of professional experience in labor relations or HR within a unionized manufacturing environment, preferably UAW
• 5+ years of supervisory or leadership experience
• Strong understanding of collective bargaining agreements and grievance administration
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• High initiative, independence, and follow-through
• Experience with HR data analytics and workforce planning
• SHRM-SCP/SHRM-CP/SPHR/PHR certifications preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead interpretation and administration of collective bargaining agreements at AM General’s Indiana operations
• Serve as primary contact for union representatives and internal stakeholders on labor matters
• Manage grievance and arbitration process with timely resolution
• Provide training to supervisors on contract compliance and labor relations
• Oversee hourly recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes
• Develop staffing strategies to maintain adequate levels and efficiency
• Forecast labor needs with operations leadership
• Update HR and labor policies for regulatory alignment
• Ensure compliance with employment laws across HR activities
• Communicate policy updates to leadership, staff, and union
• Consult with legal counsel on complex labor matters
• Lead continuous improvement of HR systems, processes, reporting
• Maintain HR information systems for data integrity and analytics
• Set department goals aligned with organizational objectives
• Supervise HR team and drive professional growth
• Partner with executives on business goals and employee engagement
• Participate in cross-functional initiatives
• Travel between Indiana facilities for coordination (approx. 25%)
