Job summary

Black & Decker (U.S.) Inc. in Towson, MD seeks a Manager/Sr Manager for Brushless Motor Embedded Software Controls. The role combines engineering leadership with hands-on development in a hybrid work setting, overseeing embedded software for brushless motor driven tools and outdoor equipment.

You will lead cross-functional teams, drive design, development, and testing, and collaborate with battery, motor, and product leaders to deliver innovative solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• 10+ years of engineering experience.
• 5+ years leading or managing teams.
• Strong oral and written communication with ability to present technically.
• Ability to collaborate with stakeholders and lead cross-functional efforts.
• Experience with embedded software development for motor drives and IoT.
• Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional team across product lines driving embedded software into brushless motor products.
• Manage all aspects of project execution: design, development, integration, testing.
• Provide team leadership across business and technical topics for system integration.
• Collaborate with subsystem design, testing, supplier selection, manufacturing and support.
• Lead development of embedded software for brushless motor control products.
• Support sensored/sensorless algorithms for motor controls.
• Partner with battery charger, power conversion, and motor controls teams.
• Work with NPI, product support, and manufacturing leadership to ensure delivery.
