Job summary

Amgen in Thousand Oaks, California seeks a Manager of Manufacturing to lead a team of subject matter experts in upstream manufacturing. You will drive continual improvement, manage complex projects, and guide implementation of new technologies across the drug substance operations.

A strong background in GMP and process development is required. This leadership role emphasizes hands-on collaboration, data-driven decisions, and cross-functional coordination with QA, manufacturing, and engineering

Qualifications

• Experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs, or directing resources.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of manufacturing specialists in upstream manufacturing.
• Demonstrate strategic problem-solving and champion continual improvement.
• Manage sophisticated projects using project management skills.
• Lead readiness of new technologies, equipment, or processes; apply scientific and operational knowledge.
• Provide assessment on process changes and document GMP manufacturing procedures.
• Draft and revise SOPs and validation protocols; ensure proper change management.
