Job summary

The Los Angeles Philharmonic Association is seeking a Manager, Special Events to lead a calendar of donor, cultivation, stewardship, and engagement events across four venues, including Opening Night and the Gala. This role manages budgets, vendors, guest experience, and cross-department coordination from concept to post-event follow-up.

Based in Los Angeles, the position requires exceptional project management, strategic thinking, and the ability to mentor staff while advancing fundraising goals

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years in special events, fundraising, donor engagement, hospitality, project management, or related field.
• Demonstrated experience independently managing complex events from planning through execution.
• Strong organizational, budgeting, and problem-solving skills; able to handle high-volume events.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute an assigned portfolio of donor, cultivation, stewardship, and engagement events across all four LA Phil venues and off-site locations.
• Lead planning and production for Opening Night and Gala events to support fundraising and revenue goals.
• Develop event plans, timelines, budgets, guest communications, invitations, RSVPs, seating, ticketing, and on-site production.
• Coordinate with Philanthropy leadership and cross-functional teams to align events with donor engagement and funding objectives.
