Job summary

PM Human Capital Solutions is actively seeking a Senior Manager / Director of Accounting Operations to lead a 9-person team and oversee a diverse portfolio of client engagements. This is a senior, hands-on leadership role with responsibility for people, clients, quality, and overall performance of accounting operations.

You will mentor staff, manage multi-client engagements, and drive process improvements, automation, and effective use of accounting platforms in a fully remote environment

Qualifications

• 8+ years in accounting, preferably in accounting/consulting/advisory or outsourced environments.
• 4+ years leading teams and managing multiple client engagements.
• Strong knowledge of month-end close, financial reporting, AP/AR, and reconciliations.
• Excellent client-facing communication and relationship management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of about 9 accounting professionals.
• Oversee accounting and reporting across multiple client engagements.
• Serve as senior escalation point for client, accounting, staffing, and quality matters.
• Review and approve monthly financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash, reconciliations).
• Improve processes across AP, AR, prepaids, accruals, and close.
• Manage client relationships, onboarding, and issue resolution.
• Lead audit prep and coordinate with external auditors.
• Support quality of earnings, due diligence, and other financial requests.
• Manage budgets, utilization, staffing, and portfolio profitability.
• Drive process improvements and automation in accounting technology.
• Collaborate with leadership on staffing, capacity planning, and growth.

Senior Manager / Director – Client Accounting Operations Fully Remote

Fast-growing accounting and advisory firm seeking an experienced Senior Manager / Director of Accounting Operations to lead a 9-person accounting team and oversee a diverse portfolio of client engagements.

This is a senior, hands-on leadership role with significant responsibility for people, clients, quality, and the overall performance of the accounting operations function.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of approximately 9 accounting professionals, including supervisors and senior staff
• Oversee accounting and reporting across multiple client engagements, ensuring accurate and timely delivery
• Serve as the senior escalation point for client, accounting, staffing, and quality matters
• Review and approve monthly financial statements, including P&L, balance sheet, cash activity, reconciliations, and variance analysis
• Establish and improve accounting processes across AP, AR, prepaids, accruals, and period-end close
• Manage senior-level client relationships, including recurring business reviews, scope changes, onboarding, and issue resolution
• Lead audit preparation and support, including PBC requests and coordination with external auditors
• Support quality of earnings, due diligence, lender reviews, and other transaction-related financial requests
• Manage engagement budgets, utilization, realization, staffing, and overall portfolio profitability
• Drive process improvement, standardization, reporting automation, and effective use of accounting technology
• Work closely with firm leadership on staffing, capacity planning, hiring, and continued growth of the practice

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within an accounting, consulting, advisory, or outsourced accounting environment
• 4+ years of team leadership experience
• Multi-client or outsourced accounting experience required
• Strong knowledge of month-end close, financial reporting, AP, AR, accruals, and reconciliations
• Strong client-facing and communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA or active CPA candidate preferred
• Strong Excel skills and familiarity with accounting platforms such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, Xero, Keeper, Bill.com, or similar systems
