Job summary

Neos Talent seeks a Director of Accounting Advisory and Transformation to lead high-impact engagements across the transaction accounting lifecycle. The role focuses on controllership, P2P, OTC, RTR, audit readiness and post-transaction accounting, reporting to the OCFO Practice Line Leader.

You will advise on ASC/GAAP/IFRS matters, foster client relationships, and drive technology-enabled improvements in finance processes, reporting and performance analytics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration or related field; MBA/CFA preferred.
• Active CPA license required.
• At least 10 years of progressive experience in financial consulting, advisory services, and/or audit.
• Located in one of the listed cities and willing to split time across client sites.
• Experience in operational accounting and GAAP/ASC/IFRS knowledge.
• Proficiency in financial modeling and financial statement analysis.
• Experience with financial technologies and automation tools.
• Bias toward leveraging technology to drive process efficiency.
• Proven ability to lead complex engagements and generate new business.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end client engagements across financial advisory, including controllership, P2P, OTC, RTR, audit readiness, finance integrations/carve-outs, due diligence, IPO readiness and post-transaction accounting.
• Provide technical and strategic accounting advice across ASC 606, ASC 805, ASC 842, GAAP, IFRS, and SEC requirements.
• Advise sponsors, lenders and management on complex transactions including M&A, carve-outs, operating-model transformations and tech implementations.
• Develop client relationships and deliver tailored, commercially focused solutions.
• Advise on ERP, close and consolidation technologies to improve reporting, controls and performance visibility.
• Lead business development and client relationship initiatives to originate revenue.

$450k - $600k (base and bonus)

The team

Accounting Advisory Transformation team which provides operational accounting, technical accounting, transaction and data analytics advisory across the business and investment lifecycle.

The role

The Director position represents a unique opportunity to assume a wide range of responsibilities and make a significant impact. This is a high-visibility role, providing advice, leadership and project execution for clients on transaction accounting matters and within the controllership function to drive process and technology improvement

You will report to the OCFO Practice Line Leader and play a key role in leading and driving project execution and client outcomes, whilst contributing to the growth and development of the practice

The responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end client engagements across financial advisory, including controllership, P2P, OTC, RTR, audit readiness, finance integrations/carve-outs, due diligence, IPO readiness and post-transaction accounting.
• Provide technical and strategic accounting advice across ASC 606, ASC 805, ASC 842, GAAP, IFRS and SEC requirements.
• Advise sponsors, lenders and management teams on complex transactions, including M&A, acquisitions, carve-outs, operating model transformations and technology implementations.
• Develop strong client relationships and deliver tailored, commercially focused solutions and strategic advice.
• Advise clients on ERP, close and consolidation technologies to improve financial reporting, controls and performance visibility.
• Lead business development and client relationship initiatives, including network cultivation and revenue origination.

The person:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration or a related field; advanced degree or professional certification (MBA, CFA) preferred
• Active CPA license required
• At least 10 years of progressive experience in financial consulting, advisory services
• Located in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Nashville, New York, Palm Beach or Philadelphia
• Invested in a collaborative team-based culture, including four office days per week and willing to work at client sites as needed
• At least 10 years of progressive experience in financial consulting, advisory services and / or audit
• Experience in operational accounting
• Deep understanding of GAAP accounting principles and financial reporting (ASC 606, ASC 805 and ASC 842) with experience advising complex technical matters and stakeholder impact
• Complete proficiency in financial modeling and financial statements analysis as well as accounting treatments
• Proficiency in financial technologies and tools (e.g., NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Microsoft Dynamics, Blackline, Floqast, etc.)
• Bias towards and track record of leveraging technology and automation solutions (Power BI / Tableau, Power Automate, UI Path, Automation Anywhere) to drive business process efficiency
• Proven ability to lead complex engagements and develop / generate new business
