Job summary

TKC Holdings, Inc. is seeking a senior transportation leader to manage 11 dedicated fleets, drive financial performance, and lead RFP activities. The role partners with operations, sales, and vendors to optimize cost, service, and backhaul revenue.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field; Master's preferred
  • 10+ years of related transportation, supply chain, fleet management, purchasing, or logistics experience

Responsibilities

  • Manage performance of 11 dedicated fleets, serving as single point of contact and dotted-line manager for fleet managers
  • Respond to daily escalations from sales, customer service, operations, and fleet partners
  • Evaluate fleet financial performance; recommend expansion/contraction based on cost-per-hundredweight vs. over-the-road rates
  • Lead RFPs for expiring contracts and new locations; gather inputs, model, review submissions, and recommend solutions
  • Identify opportunities to increase backhaul revenue via inbound orders or third-party shipments
  • Establish routing guides for each location and direct operations teams
  • Lead weekly/bi-weekly KPI review meetings (cost-per-hundredweight, utilization, on-time delivery)
  • Conduct monthly safety meetings with vendors and ensure safety KPIs are met
  • Oversee weekly invoicing, supervising contractor activity and submitting to AP
  • Monthly allocation of vehicle expense and reporting to AP and Finance

About This Position

This position is responsible for the daily management and strategy of Keefe dedicated fleets, including daily execution and service, safety, invoicing, financial performance, and related vendor management. The role manages dedicated fleet performance, partners with operations, sales, customer service, and vendors to resolve escalations, evaluates fleet financial performance, leads dedicated fleet RFPs, and identifies opportunities to improve cost, service, utilization, and backhaul revenue.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
  • Manage performance of all 11 dedicated fleets, including serving as the single point of contact and dotted-line manager for dedicated fleet manager-routers.
  • Respond to daily escalations from sales, customer service, operations, and dedicated fleet vendor partners.
  • Continuously evaluate fleet financial performance and recommend expansion or contraction based on cost-per-hundredweight performance versus over-the-road rates.
  • Lead RFPs for expiring dedicated fleet contracts and new fleet locations, including gathering operational and sales inputs, establishing modeling parameters, reviewing financial submissions, and recommending optimal solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to increase backhaul revenue through inbound purchase orders or third-party revenue shipments.
  • Establish and maintain routing guides for each fleet location and provide direction to operations teams.
  • Conduct weekly or bi-weekly meetings with operations and local dedicated fleet contacts to review KPIs such as cost-per-hundredweight, utilization, and on-time delivery.
  • Conduct monthly safety meetings with dedicated fleet vendors and ensure critical safety KPIs are met.
  • Complete weekly invoicing, supervise Transportation Contractor activity, and submit invoices to Accounts Payable.
  • Complete monthly allocation of vehicle expense and report out to Accounts Payable and Finance.

What You'll Need
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or related business field; Master's degree or equivalent education preferred.
  • Ten or more years of related transportation, supply chain, fleet management, purchasing, or logistics experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience managing dedicated fleet operations, carrier/vendor relationships, routing guides, transportation KPIs, and cost performance.
  • Ability to lead RFP processes, evaluate financial submissions, and recommend transportation solutions based on operational and financial analysis.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, routing procedures, and process documentation.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, vendors, and the general public.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to apply percentages, ratios, proportions, probability, and statistical concepts to practical business situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and interpret technical instructions involving multiple variables.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong analytical capability.
  • Ability to multi-task, re-prioritize, and make effective decisions in a fast-moving environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, from entry-level operations team members to executive leadership.
  • Ability to manage, influence, and develop talent, including vendor-employed fleet manager-routers.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to cultivate rapport throughout the organization, with customers, and with vendors.

  • Ability to evaluate operational and financial performance using KPIs such as cost-per-hundredweight, utilization, on-time delivery, safety metrics, and backhaul revenue.
